Hi, I’m Nicci, owner of Trust Fitness & Recovery.
When asked how I got into personal training, I have to give most of the credit to the horse that threw me off of her twenty-one years ago causing major injuries to both of my knees. The process of healing from two completely torn ACL’s and the three surgeries to repair them required a lot of patience on my part. I looked forward to the day I no longer required crutches.
After a total of eighteen months and the clearance from physical therapy, I got back into the gym. This was always an environment that felt natural to me, having played sports my entire life. Taking what I learned from physical therapy and the rebuilding of my muscle strength after therapy, it only made sense for me to find my training niche in strength training, corrective exercise and post-injury rehabilitation.
In addition, a hip injury in 2015 left me with some degree of discomfort daily causing sitting too long to be very painful. Desperate for relief, I pulled out an old foam roller, which proved to be a game changer. This began my research on muscle recovery tools and Myofascial Release Therapy. I quickly learned the benefits are profound and I can’t imagine designing a client's program without the use of them.
